Ongoing medical issue

If you know me, you know an X-ray of my neck looks like somebody took a 5-iron to it.

It is mildly painful (and more numb) but it is surviveable. I had some very bad X-rays about seven months ago and started treatment.

The awesome part. I get to go to the doctor for it this week and start another stage of treatment which is awesomer. Hip hip hooray.

I eat normal.

I don't need surgery though, so I emerged awesome in life. I LOVE LIFE!! Love it, love it, love it!! Good choices pay off!!

No cooperation with school

Had a very healthy and hardy debate with a co-worker about this!!

The topic: Is it a parent's obligation to "cooperate" with their child's school?? Discuss below!!

Annswer: It is not. Most schools are institutions of control. Some school handbooks read that it is a parent's "obligation" and "responsibility" to cooperate with everything the school says and does. What about when the school is wrong??

Here is an example. If I were a parent, and the school required my child to take a drug test to be in cheerleading, football, or the chess club, would it be my responsibility to comply (when my child is already drug free)??

Another example (this is one for you Bandit). If the school required my child to wear a uniform or cut their hair, would it be my responsibility to make my child comply?? I would say no.

(I am talking about public schools. I am a product of public school. I wouldn't even think of making my children go to Catholic school.)

A parent's job is to parent, not to abdicate parenting responsibilities to the school. When we say it takes a village, this is not what we mean. It takes a village of love, not control. The parent also has another job, and that is to fight the school when it is wrong. Parents parent for the kids, not the school.

I convinced my co-worker.

I heard this conversation between a mother and a son (apx. ten years old) on the street today.

MOM: "You're scaring the dog."

SON: "I'm scaring YOU!!"

That kid is a future Congressman.

So.....I did see something very funny walking down the street. A girl who was about FIFTEEN got out of a car with her mom, she snorted, and a big BOOGER came out of her nose. It DANGLED there!! It was like three inches long. Then she said "Mom, it's a booger."

Prescriptions

WHY do people act like there is something wrong with you, if you are under 65 and you get prescription drugs at the pharmacy?? I'm not talking about psychotropics, I mean other stuff.

People used to go to the pharmacy counter and get prescriptions ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Why is it so embarrassing now??
