I am back on Facebook and it is the same shithole it always was.

I was locked out of my account since early 2017. I was able to get back in because they put up a "I am not a robot" screen that every other site did FIFTEEN YEARS AGO!!

No more relying on roomies and friends for FB.

Rochester NY station fires someone over racial slur, Q102 did not

A story about WHEC in Rochester NY which fired its meteorologist because he used a racist slur on-air.

My take: I bet he uses this terminology to refer to the park in private all the time, and slipped up and used it on the air!! It was a LIVE newscast so he couldn't go back and edit it. But, it's his own fault he got fired. If you don't want it to slip out on the air...DON'T SAY IT IN PRIVATE EITHER. Using a racist slur (even in private) is a bad habit and this is one of the reasons why.

I remember when a guy on Q102 (here in Cincy) said it!! I thought Q102 was a QUALITY station when I was growing up before they became SHITTY CASTERS 102!! That is when I stopped listening. Except one day after work I put the radio on Q102 and one of their dj's (I don't remember his name) said it when he was talking about a shooting in Over the Rhine.

This guy was still on the air for months (maybe years) after he said it.

Why is an under age child smoking on TV??

Why are they showing a girl who is only about fifteen SMOKING??

Ann visits a Republican

I volunteer for a Democratic candidate for Congress in another local seat, and well it is truly a sight to see the people who are voting for the Republican who is Congressman now.

I was working in a semi-remote area (with two other volunteers, for safety) and one of the Republican voters invited me on her property. She was an older lady...70ish maybe older. We spoke outside in her yard about healthcare and social security (which apparently she opposed).

She said "Well only 60 Minutes says they shouldn't make cuts to social security." She kept ranting about 60 Minutes, and each time she said 60 Minutes, she wagged her finger in the air three times with a curved movement. She did the same for the New York Times and "the liberal news media."

I LATER asked one of my other volunteers about it, and he said it was the sign for an "echo" which is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_parentheses

Back to the older Republican lady...She started talking about how "the central park five were guilty as sin" and the "liberal news media" let them get away with it. And how she votes Republicans in because "we don't want that stuff coming here" and "look what they've done to Glenway." Who is "they"??

I didn't waste a Democratic sign on her, and moved on!!

Drug bust by my old house

They just had a DRUG BUST (heroin) right by my old house.

The dealers must have been tired of having people drive all the way up Fairway to get their fix so they bought or rented a house in town!!
